Clear responsibilities for everyday medicines support

Medication Support in Enfield

If managing your prescribed medicines is becoming difficult, it helps to know exactly who will assist and what they will do. Angels Caring Care can assess the support you need in Enfield and discuss an agreed plan with you.

Daily living

Support shaped around everyday life.

Medicines support is different for every person. You may manage your medicines yourself but need a reminder, or need practical help with a particular step. We begin by understanding your usual routine, what you can do independently and any existing support from relatives or healthcare professionals.

Any prompting, assistance or administration must be explicitly agreed and recorded in the care plan. Administration can only be considered where it is authorised, the instructions are clear and the worker has the required competence. Availability and suitability are confirmed through assessment; this page is not a promise to undertake every medicines-related task.

Practical help

What support can include.

The help provided is agreed following assessment and recorded in your individual care plan.

Agreed in your care plan
  1. 01

Reminding you about a prescribed medicine at the time agreed in your plan.

  2. 02

Practical assistance, such as opening packaging, where specifically assessed and agreed.

  3. 03

Helping maintain a routine around planned visits and prescribed instructions.

  4. 04

Discussing who is responsible for prescription collection or ordering, where support is needed.

  5. 05

Supporting agreed safe storage arrangements while respecting your independence.

  6. 06

Recording the agreed help provided and raising concerns through the appropriate care contacts.

Is this right for you?

Who may find this helpful?

Every person is different. Our team will confirm whether we can meet the identified needs and explain current availability.

You usually take your own medicines but sometimes need an agreed reminder.

A physical difficulty makes part of your medicines routine harder to manage.

Relatives provide help and need clearer responsibilities alongside professional support.

Your care needs or prescription arrangements have changed and your support needs reviewing.

  1. 01

    Understand your routine

We discuss the help you currently receive, your preferences and the difficulties you want to address. Where necessary, the appropriate healthcare professional helps clarify the instructions and any concerns.

  2. 02

    Document the agreed help

The plan identifies the support for each relevant medicine and who is responsible. We confirm what we can provide, what remains with you or others, and how changes should be communicated.

  3. 03

    Review when things change

Let the care team know about a new prescription, changed instructions or a difficulty with your routine. Support arrangements need to be reviewed before a worker takes on a different responsibility.

Can a care worker change my dose or recommend a medicine?

No. Questions about treatment, doses or side effects belong with your prescriber or pharmacist. Care workers provide only the support authorised in the agreed plan.

Can you give me my medicines rather than remind me?

We can discuss the need during assessment. Administration is only considered when explicitly agreed and authorised, with clear instructions and a worker competent for the particular task.

Can this be part of a personal care visit?

You can ask us to assess both needs together. Timing and responsibilities must be workable and agreed; some prescribed medicines require particularly careful visit planning.

What happens if I am unsure whether I have taken a dose?

Contact your pharmacist or prescriber for advice and let the care team know about the concern. The worker follows the agreed reporting procedure and records what has happened; treatment decisions remain with the appropriate healthcare professional.
